Nahuala Girl's Morga --- - Single panel foot-loomed indigo morga (skirt) with A decorative hand-embroidered white and purple randa forms the traditional cross pattern.. Worn by Mayan women in Nahuala, Guatemala the finally woven cotton skirt was probably woven in Nahuala or a neighboring town. It has decorative vertical stripes of of turquoise, other colors, some brillante (metalic like threads) and stripes of tied dyed jaspe woven into the fabric. While the color is a beautiful medium indigo blue, it is probably not naturally dyed. The dimensions of the skirt is 32" (weft) by 35" x 2" = 70" (warp). The skirt is used, but in good condition.
