Found in Maine, this is an old one, with the fat iron nails at his joints and rust all over attesting to it. One sees these cut metal figures now and then, which, like their jointed wooden counterparts, were meant to be danced around, as this one still will, which is quite fun to do, with just a little stiffness in his right knee! I love the fingers on the hands most of all, but also his very long nose! Mid-late 19th c. I believe.

14 1/8 t not including handle. Aged and rusted as evident but all the better for it and not at all delicate.
