This 1990 Soviet issue celebrates remarkable architectural and cultural monuments across the USSR republics.
The first stamp depicts the Tbilisi Pantheon and a monument in Georgia, honoring national heritage and artistry.
The second features the Saviour and St. Sophia Cathedrals of Polotsk, Belarus, fine examples of 11th–18th century ecclesiastical architecture.
The third shows the Vilnius Cathedral, Lithuania, with its grand neoclassical façade and bell tower — symbols of Lithuania’s historical capital.
Each 15 kopeck stamp is inscribed “Памятники истории” (“Monuments of History”) and showcases regional cultural treasures from Georgia, Belarus, and Lithuania. This series reflects the USSR’s recognition of its diverse national heritages during the late Soviet period.
