Product Description: This rare Seven-Layer Chevron Bead features a unique and precious design with seven layers, unlike the more commonly found six-layer Chevron beads. Its age is older, dating back to the 1500s to 1800s, giving it distinct colors and textures, including a rare semi-transparent green layer that adds to its uniqueness and charm.
Trade Beads were manufactured in Venice, Bohemia, and other European countries from the late 1400s to the early 1900s for trade with Africa and America. These beads were exchanged for gold, ivory, and slaves in Africa, and for furs with Native Americans in North America. The peak period of trade beads was from the mid-1800s to the early 1900s, during which millions of beads were produced and exported to Africa, the majority of which were made in Venice.
