Drilling through the trunk lid provides mechanical lock but creates permanent holes. Plan your method before surface prep, as FRP bonds securely to adhesive once cured, and drilled holes cannot be "undrilled."

How stable is this at highway speeds?

Five-piece FRP construction is inherently rigid and aerodynamically stable when properly mounted and balanced. Ensure all five sections are evenly secured and check mounting points regularly after the first 500 miles of driving. Uneven pressure or loose sections can cause flutter; proper installation and maintenance eliminate this risk.
