Inspired by the feeling of dancing through tall grass under an open sky, this flowing design features freehand wave-like brushwork, tiny stars, dotted trails, and glowing rays painted across a rich meadow green background.

I painted each individual brushstroke hand using traditional batik techniques with hot beeswax and layered dyes.  Rather than outlining the wave itself, I followed the movement and energy around it with the wisps and curls — creating a dreamy sense of motion across the skirt.

The flattering twist-front neckline creates an easy feminine shape while the lightweight cotton knit drapes beautifully and feels comfortable for everyday wear, festivals, travel, or dressing up with jewelry and boots.

Each dress is individually hand dyed and painted by Victoria Batikwalla in Oregon, USA. No two are exactly alike.
