This arrives as bare carbon fiber. A UV-protective clear coat is strongly recommended before installation to preserve the weave pattern and prevent yellowing from sun exposure. Apply your chosen clear coat system during final prep.

How do I seal the edges after installation?

Sand the edges lightly and seal them with epoxy or your chosen sealant before final assembly. This prevents moisture infiltration at panel seams and maintains long-term durability. Standard edge prep applies the same way as with any carbon fiber panel.

Will the carbon fiber weave stay visible under the clear coat?

Yes. A quality clear coat preserves the 2x2 twill weave pattern while protecting it. The depth of visibility depends on the clear coat thickness and gloss level you choose — glossy finishes show more definition than satin or matte.
