Product Description: This is a rare seven-layer Chevron bead. Compared to the more common six-layer Chevron beads, this bead is older, dating back to the 1500s to 1800s, and features distinct colors and textures that offer a unique charm.
Due to lighting conditions during photography, the actual product may appear slightly different in color from the images. The photos were taken under bright indoor lighting.
Trade Beads were produced in Venice, Bohemia, and other European countries from the late 1400s to the early 1900s for trade with the African and American continents. These beads were exchanged for gold, ivory, and slaves in Africa, and for furs with Native Americans in North America. During the mid-1800s to early 1900s, Trade Beads reached their peak, with millions of beads produced and exported to Africa, most of which were made in Venice.
