Although Vera McGinnis didn’t start out life as a cowgirl; her athletic ability allowed her to jump into the sport with both feet.  After an impromptu relay ride, she dove into trick riding, bronc riding, bull riding, and roman racing! She won at all these events.  Her famous trick was climbing under the horse's belly at full speed.
