The maker is Rachel Farmer and it reads Rachel Farmer's work aged 9 1831 Oswestry National School. The National Schools were founded in the early 19th century by the National Society for Promoting Religious Education, an organization associated with the Church of England. In Oswestry, when the existing school facilities became insufficient.
Circa William IV era dated 1831.
Made from wool and set in a recent Larson Juhl black gold paint leaf finish Verdi collection Ayous wood LCD moulded frame. With an AR70 front protective glass cover. Also set in white mount with a gold colour border.
