Nest 5L high efficiency shaker flasks are ideal for medium size scale up work. They are "high efficiency" in that a 5L flask has 230mm diameter footprint, allowing for more of them to fit on a shaker platform. The geometry of the flasks also allows for higher shaker speeds without damaging the cells. Faster shaker speeds means better gas exchange, higher growth rates and more yield per flask. 

C10442-AKA060A is a specially configured version of the Nest 5L transfer cap. It does not include a filter on the second transfer cap port. This leaves the second port open to be used for other applications. All gas exchange is done through the extra large PTFE membrane installed in the cap.
