The front admin flap is included for carriers that do not already have a built-in cummerbund flap; carriers that do have one only need the cummerbund half itself. This kit is not compatible with the Armored Republic Concealment or Compact carriers.

Function

The cummerbund stabilizes the plate carrier so the armor stays centered over vital organs during movement. Beyond positioning, the MOLLE columns on each half accept standard pouches, and the design accommodates side armor inserts for additional ballistic coverage at the flanks. Size adjusts by moving the shock cord lashing inward toward the MOLLE columns for smaller torsos, or by substituting different lengths of shock cord (sold separately) to extend or shorten the cummerbund beyond the default 51" maximum circumference.

How do I size the cummerbund to fit my torso?

With the included shock cord lashing at its maximum extension, the cummerbund reaches 51" in overall circumference. To size it down, slide the lashing inward toward the MOLLE columns. For torso sizes outside that range, substitute a different length of shock cord — sold separately — to go larger or smaller than the default configuration allows.

Can I mount side armor plates on this cummerbund?

Yes. The cummerbund is designed to accept side armor inserts in addition to standard MOLLE pouches, extending your carrier's ballistic coverage to the flanks without requiring a purpose-built side-plate carrier.

Is this kit ballistic-rated on its own?

No. The Cummerbund Kit is a non-ballistic structural accessory. Any ballistic protection at the sides depends on the side armor plates you choose to seat in the cummerbund — those are sold separately.
