Description:
Excellent performance by the golden combination of Peter Mark & Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra! Following the first release of Bruckner's "New World" and "Tristan und Isolde" Prelude and Love Death (TBRCD0012, Recorded Arts Special Selection) and Schumann's Symphonies No. 1 and No. 2 (TBRCD0014), here comes another masterful performance by Mark and the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. Peter Mark and the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra showed an exquisite combination. From the last performance, "New World" appears. This is also the first repertoire for the maestro Mark. As in his previous releases, he offers "an interpretation that cannot be heard from anyone else. Mark deconstructs this famous piece as a true lyrical symphony. The unexpected softness at the beginning, the poetic Dvorak that is more Schumannian than Brahmsian, gives us a fascinating insight into an unknown charm. Kapling's "Tristan" is also in the repertoire for the first time. Again, the tone is light and bright, but there are nervous swings of the heart in places that stir up drama. The orchestral skill is also noteworthy. Excellent digital recording. Tobu Land System
