Similar to the Classroom Board, the Roots Challenge Master Board is used to introduce the three weekly Latin and/or Greek roots and their meanings and to facilitate the "brainstorming" game that students love. 

While the Classroom Board is rigid and can be hand-held or placed on an easel or chalk board rail the Master Board is made of vinyl and must be mounted on a bulletin board.  The Master Board is usually placed in a central location within the school building where all students will have access to it, such as a cafeteria or in the hallway outside the school office.  Master Boards help to create the “community-building” quality of the Latin and Greek Roots Challenge by allowing all students to collaborate in identifying and recording "Constructed Words" on the Master Board and to view those recorded by others.

Master Boards may be purchased separately, but must be used with the Visual Root Worksheets (Pad I), Constructed Word Lists (Pad II), and Master Board Pad (Pad III).  It is most economical to purchase all four components in the Master Board Kit.  Master Boards can be reused from year to year, with schools just needing to purchase the next year's pads.
